Henry Rankin is an award winning composer, arranger and violinist working across concert and media music.

Henry studied at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music. His concert works have been performed by ensembles including Macclesfield Symphony Orchestra, and he received his first orchestral commission in 2024.

Alongside his classical music, Henry composes for media, with credits on BBC One, BBC Two and National Geographic. As an arranger and session musician, he has collaborated with artists including Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Marling, Sam Fender and Yann Tiersen.

He also works closely with award-winning sample library company Westwood Instruments, recording multiple solo and ensemble string libraries.

Henry’s work spans orchestral, chamber and media contexts, and he continues to develop new projects for concert performance and recording.
